Essential Strum Technique #1

If you really want to become a great ukulele player you have to be able to strum chords with a solid rhythm.

Being able to play and swtich chords cleanly is one of the first steps you must get down. Getting the chords memorized will help you switch between chords faster.

In this lesson you have two extremely important chords to know, the G chord and the C chord. In they key of G, this progression uses the I chord (G chord) and the IV chord (C chord).

The rhythm in this example works on quarter notes (receive 1 beat), half notes (receive 2 beats), and eighth notes (received 1/2 a beat). This rhythm uses a half note on beat 3 in order to give you plenty of time to switch to the new chord.
