MEET YOUR UKULELE INSTRUCTOR!

Terry Carter is a San Diego–based ukulele player, surfer, songwriter, educator, and the creator of the world’s leading ukulele platforms, ukelikethepros.com and store.ukelikethepros.com. With more than 25 years as a professional musician, educator, and Los Angeles studio guitarist, Terry has worked with an impressive range of artists and organizations, including Weezer, Josh Groban, Robby Krieger of The Doors, two-time Grammy-winning composer Christopher Tin (Calling All Dawns), Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, Grammy-winning producer Charles Goodan (Santana, The Rolling Stones), and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

As a composer and producer, Terry has written and recorded music for national commercials such as Discount Tire and Puma, as well as television shows including Scorpion (CBS), Pit Bulls & Parolees (Animal Planet), Trippin’, Wildboyz, and The Real World (MTV). His work spans genres and mediums, blending musical depth with real-world application across film, television, and advertising.

A passionate educator and content creator, Terry has self-published more than ten instructional books for Uke Like The Pros and Rock Like The Pros, filmed over thirty ukulele and guitar courses, and built a global community of more than 100,000 subscribers on the Uke Like The Pros YouTube channel. He holds a Master of Music in Studio/Jazz Guitar Performance from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Music from San Diego State University, with an emphasis in Jazz Studies and Music Education.

Terry has taught at institutions including the University of Southern California, San Diego State University, Santa Monica College, MiraCosta College, and Los Angeles Trade-Technical College. When he’s not teaching or creating, he continues to grow the Uke Like The Pros community through online education, workshops, and social platforms including YouTube, Instagram, and Patreon.
