Welcome back to Chord Mania!!! I will now teach you how to play the Grandaddy Strum Pattern which is one of the most important strum patterns in the Ukulele in this video. Identifying the strum pattern used in specific songs can be quite difficult for a ukulele player and musician. Many of my students tell me that they are not able to identify which strum patterns have been used in various songs. This is because of the variations in the strum patterns used for composing different songs. While the simplest of songs use the eight notes, complex ones may be composed using the sixteenth note strum patterns.

But the Grandaddy strum pattern is one that makes it easy for you to play almost any song of your choice. The entire song can be played on just 3 chords- Gmin – Eb – D7. This video is not exactly a tutorial, but I will explain how different chord shapes and fingerstyle patterns can create the rhythm. I will show you how the Gmin-Eb-D7 chords can be played using a Cuban style rhythm fingerstyle pattern.

If you watch the video closely, you will see how I alternate my thumb between the 3^rd and 4^th strings. And, for the alternating bass pattern, I have a low G on my 4^th string.

Hello guys, welcome to another exciting ukulele tutorial. In this video, I am going to talk about advanced blues turnaround in A. This is something which is generally played by the advanced ukulele players.

Like most of my videos, I have focused on the main topic without wasting time and making the video long. The turnaround uses the last 2 bars (11 and 12) of the 12 bar blues. We are going to use only 3 chords, namely:

- A chord (I)

- D7 chord (IV)

- E7 chord (V)

The 11 and 12 bars are A and E7 respectively.

In the video, I will first make you learn the turnaround and then I will give a demonstration of it by playing the 12 bar blues and showing how the turnaround is used into it.

I suggest you to first learn the turnaround properly and then try to fit it into the blues. Further, if you want to learn some more turnarounds after this video, you can check out B.B. King, Vaughan, Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, and Robert Johnson.

Ever wondered what is a double stop in ukulele? A double stop is when you play two notes at the same time. In this tutorial, I am going to discuss using the double stops with the F major scale. I have chosen the F major scale as it normally does not go to high and most ukuleles will play it perfectly.

So, the notes are going to be on only two strings i.e. the first and the second string. Talking about the position of the fingers, the index finger will be on the 2nd string. Also, the middle finger will be on the first string.

Another thing to note here is that I will only be using the pinches all the time in this tutorial. I have discussed every single finger position in detail clarifying both up and down motions.

Try to make sure that you are following my fingers just as I have shown in the video. This will allow you to play it perfectly and effortlessly.

And of course the last thing – Practice it multiple times!

In this video, I am going to talk about an important ukulele chord i.e. A Major. The very first thing that I want to mention is that I am using a low G for this lesson. So, if you do not have a Low G, first go grab one.

Another thing that I want to suggest is to thoroughly memorize this chord before you attempt any soloing.

I have discussed every detail about the A Major Scale by letting you guys practice both the ascending and descending motions.

I suggest that you should not rush on to improvising. Just learn and memorize the scale carefully and then move to licks and solos.

You will be surprised to know that most of your favorite songs feature the 3 finger G chord. The G chord is not too hard to play but it becomes a more difficult stretch as you slide it up and down the neck to play chords such as the A, Ab, B, and C. But, well get to that in a minute.

This is how you play the G chord.

 The G chord is a triad comprising the 3 notes G-B-D. Although you play all 4 strings for this shape, you are only playing 3 different notes because the G note is used twice.

The notes of G chord arise from the G major scale: G-A-B-C-D-E-F#-G. You will find that the G-B-D notes are the 1st, 3rd, and 5th degree of the scale.

Once you gain mastery on the G chord, you will be able to slide it up and down if you understand the location...

Let us continue our musical journey on mastering the art of strumming the ukulele. In this lesson, I will teach you the triplet strum pattern with the help of 7th chords. A triplet strum pattern implies playing 3 notes per beat.

Before you begin the course on the triplet pattern, you will need to bear certain things in mind:

You will need to keep your strumming wrist in a relaxed and comfortable position.

The roll should be continuous and balanced.

You should start slow and build up your speed as you get more confident with the pattern.

Once you are set, let’s begin this tutorial with the G7 ukulele chord. The fingering of the G7 chord is:

Open 4th string

2^nd finger on the 2^nd fret of the 3^rd string

1^st finger on the 1^st fret of the 2^nd string

3^rd finger on the 2^nd fret of the 1^st string

The reason why this chord is easy for even a beginner to play is because it only requires one finger. You place your first finger on the 3^rd string, 1^st fret while playing strings 4, 2, and 1 open.

The A7 chord produces a great jazzy/bluesy sound and is great over a Blues in A or jazz standard.

The notes that make up the A7 chord are A – C# - E – G. Notice because this chord is a seventh chord it has 4 notes in it, verses a triad which only has 3 notes in it.

We can also slide this chord shape up and down the neck but it does turn into a bar chord which is hard for some beginners to play. When you play this shape on different parts of the neck you need to remember where the root is. In the A7 chord the root is on...
